Artists impression of the Jacksons Wharf development
Controversial development plans by Peeling Holdings to demolish and redevelop the former Jackson Wharf pub site at Castlefield have rejected by the Council Planning Committee.
Residents have won a stunning victory in opposing the proposed 118 apartments.
Cllr Marc Ramsbottom, Lib Dem City Centre Councillor who opposed the plans and attending the meeting of the Planning Committee to speak out on behalf of local residents said,"The architect for this scheme, Ian Simpson has done some great buildings in this city, but sadly this was not one of them. It is out of scale and would dominate the other buildings in the area, especially the Middle Warehouse/Castle Quay. I am delighted that the views of local residents and other friends of Castlefield have won the day".
