It's the Lib Dems or Labour - the Tories or Greens can't win in the city centre
With the local election now well underway, local residents are recognising that it's a straight choice between hardworking Liberal Democrat Councillor Marc Ramsbottom and Gordon Brown's Labour candidate. It's a two horse race between the Lib Dems or Labour. The Tories and Greens cannot win in the city centre. The Tories were still in third place and a vote for them only helps Labour.
"I want to say a big thank you to the many residents who have sent me good luck message during the campaign," said Marc. "While I been out and about talking to many residents, it is clear that they want someone who will stand up for their interests in the Town Hall. I am pleased to be standing on a proud record of hard work and action all year round."
With extra polling stations, it is hoped for a record turnout. The polling stations in the city centre are listed below:
Castlefield and St John's Gardens - Castlefield Visitor's Centre, Liverpool Road.
The Village and Chinatown - Lesbian and Gay Foundation, Princess Street.
City South, Southern Gateway, Whitworth St West and Macintosh Village - Dance House, Oxford Road.
Northern Quarter - Methodist Central Hall, Oldham Street.
All other locations - Town Hall.
