New images of the development at Jackson Wharf Castlefield.
New plans for the development of the derelict former Jackson's Wharf pub have been announced by developers Peel Holdings. These revised plans show a smaller building on the important site in the Castlefield basin.
Commenting on the new plans City Centre Lib Dem Councillor Marc Ramsbottom said "It seems that finally Peel Holdings have listened to the concerns of local Castlefield residents and gone back to the draw board with much more appropriate development that is in keeping with the heritage of the area."
Consultation meetings with local resident are being carried out before final plans are submitted to the Council Planning Department. Previous plans were rejected by the Council Planning Department after strong opposition from local residents and councillors. A subsequent appeal to the Planning Inspectorate was also rejected, and these new plans have had to take account of the Inspector criticism.
